On her 16 month birthday (12/18/12), Cora decided to start walking and stop crawling. The transition was sudden, not gradual. She just flipped a switch, stood up, and off she went!
Cora eats well with a spoon, but she still sometimes chooses her method of shoving her whole fist in her mouth. Cora likes to stuff her cheeks with way bigger bites than she should. Even if we spread food around on her tray she picks up a bunch of pieces and shoves them all in at the same time. She still asks to nurse for a few minutes most nights, but it's quick and I'm sure it's just for some quick comfort.
Cora has a pink stuffed kitty she likes and she sleeps with blankets, but she's not attached to either one. Cora says bye bye and good night by blowing giant kisses with her mouth wide open. She gives hugs by snuggling into my chest.
Cora regularly uses the signs for more, please, and all done and she
very clearly nods or shakes her head for yes and no. She answers with
yes or no when you ask if she wants food, something to drink, a specific
toy, a nap, a clean diaper.
