This was the weekend of the "super moon." Tom made fun of Mom and me talking about the super moon until he started thinking about how it might make for some really good fishing. After that, he was determined! Tom celebrated the super moon by catching a ton of perch, setting more than a dozen lines, and catching catfish for dinner that tasted delicious! I celebrated the super moon by sleeping on the sleeping porch and it was delightful.
Dinner was a delicious mix of fresh summer foods. We had tomatoes, okra, and cucumbers from the garden and fish from the river. You can't get any more local or fresh than that.
Cora and Owen gobbled up the fish, but oddly, Cora has decided she doesn't like to eat watermelon. She will lick it, but she won't eat it.
