Week 32 - Grandma, Grandpa, and Pumpkin Carving

Owen had so much fun with Grandma and Grandpa on their most recent visit. It was a perfect long weekend with them here.

The weather has been BEAUTIFUL in Austin lately. This is the kind of weather that makes the hot summers bearable. Here are some pictures from an early dinner at Shady Grove. We still like to get out on the weekends with Owen, but now we aim to hit restaurants between 5 and 5:30. We're those people now. There's almost never a wait at 5 o'clock! Even at Shady Grove. Even on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. It's a whole new world for us.






When we were kids, we got together with our usual cousins for an annual Halloween gathering at the river. We carved pumpkins and roasted hot dogs and our parents sent us on scavenger hunts that scared the pants off of us. This year, we got to do it again! Our kids are little young for the scary stuff, but the hot dogs and pumpkins were still great. It's nice to be able to share my family traditions with Owen's Grandma and Grandpa when they visit. The more the merrier!



Paula and her girls were in town this weekend too. They stayed for a while so you'll see more of them in a later post.
