Just a swingin'

Owen now has a swing at our house! If you've been to our house, you know how steep our lot and driveway are and these pictures won't surprise you. If you haven't been here before, you'll get a little feel for the slope, but these pictures won't do it justice. This is one of the flattest parts of our yard and Tom had to put blocks under the downhill feet of the ladder for balance.

Here you can see our street at the bottom of our hill. The street continues to slope downward from our house.

Tom finished installing the swing right at Owen's bed time on Thursday night so Owen's first ride in the swing was in his pajamas in the dark. We took these pictures of his second ride in the swing yesterday afternoon. The weather has been BEAUTIFUL lately.

My part time schedule at work suits me perfectly because I get a few extra hours at home with Owen in the afternoon. On nice days, we'll sit outside on the sidewalk, Owen will eat a snack, and we'll watch the street from our perch at the top of the hill. It's peaceful. And now I love that we have this swing in our front yard because we'll get to see even more of our neighbors. We have a wonderful street with friendly neighbors and I love it when they come visit while we play.
