Park City Skiing!

Paula and Chad invited us to join them in Park City for a week of skiing and we jumped at the chance.  They have access to a big, beautiful house where we could all stay.  It was an amazing way to vacation.  Opa and Nana were on the plane with us and they helped a lot with Cora who was restless the whole time.

On our first full day, Paula, Chad, Kate, Claire, Tom, Owen, and I went to Canyons to ski. The kids were in a lesson for just the three of them. After an hour and a half, we got a call that Owen was "non-compliant." He wouldn't participate and was crying. We talked him into trying it for a while, but he was done before lunch and was a blubbery mess. Opa came to pick Owen up at the resort.  The funny thing was that by the time he got in the car he was talking about how he was skiing "super fast down the mountain!" To hear him tell it he had an awesome time, but he seemed miserable the whole morning. Kate and Claire did great and they were exhausted at the end of the day. It was warm and sunny and not crowded and beautiful.  I haven't been skiing in 8 years so I was worried about how it would go, but it was awesome!  Paula, Chad, Tom and I skied together at Canyons two days and Paula and I went up to Park City by ourselves for a third day.  Each day was progressively colder and snowier.  Tom did his third day at Park City solo and he skied like a crazy person doing only hard runs all over the mountain.

Instead of buying the professional pictures taken of us on the mountain at Park City, we just took pictures of the pictures on the computer screen.  Here's my action shot!

When Paula and I were enjoying our mom's day out, Tom and Chad played with the kids in the snow behind the house.

And twice, we took the kids to the snow tubing park.  This was by far their favorite part of the vacation.

We owe mom and dad a huge THANK YOU for taking care of the little kids so we could ski so much.  The next picture is Opa playing "feed the cows" with the kids.  This was a popular game all week, apparently.

The whole week was an amazing treat and we can't wait to go back again next year.
