Garden goodness

The kids and I spent a lovely spring weekend with Opa and Nana while Tom enjoyed SXSW. We spent time "helping" in the garden and enjoying the fruits of Opa and Nana's labor. Opa and Owen caught some ladybugs in the house and took them out to this kale plant that had aphids. When he put the ladybug down on the leaf with the aphids, Owen got to see the ladybug pick up and eat an aphid. It was pretty cool to see!

It was also time to harvest the carrots.

Opa asked Owen and Cora to help him plant a row of green beans.  Cora loved her job and threw seeds in by the handful.

Nana and Owen made homemade gnocchi.

Tom met us for Blake's birthday party Sunday afternoon. Cora played with a stomp rocket for the first time and snuggled with me on the swing. Owen and Blake were too busy playing to be caught in these pictures.

These are two very happy kids.

It was a delightful weekend, as all of our weekends are at Opa and Nana's house.
