I'm bummed that we didn't take any pictures of the actual road trip. I was worried about it, but it went really well. We left at 4am on Friday morning and Owen and I slept for the first three hours of the trip. It worked great for everyone but Tom who did all of the driving, but he says he enjoys it. Owen was great the whole trip! We did pretty much the same thing coming home. Smoooooth sailing.
Most of the weekend was casual fun with Tom's close cousins, but we did spend a few hours at a small Harp reunion with distant relatives. Grandpa enjoyed learning more about Harp geneology from his distant cousins and the rest of us enjoyed eating lunch and playing in the church gym. Owen loved spending time with Grandma and Grandpa on this trip, especially because they let him play games on their iPhones. Here's the first of many shots of the iPhone as a special toy. I still can't use my phone around Owen without him begging and crying to play with it, but look how happy he is in this picture!
Here we are back at Aunt Nancy's house. Owen had so much fun with his cousins. He thought Lauren's hair was enchanting and he couldn't get enough of Ethan who is incredibly sweet with other kids.

Enough with the phones! Time to go outside to play. Lots and lots of Harps in the pool. Lots and lots of splashing and laughing.
I wish we could see the Harp cousins more often. It was really wonderful to spend the long weekend together.

Tom has told me for years that his cousins put on their own fireworks show on the 4th of July, but this was my first year to experience it for myself. Holy cow, there were so many fireworks, not only at Aunt Nancy and Uncle David's house, but all over their neighborhood. It was pretty awesome. Uncle David started by hosing down the yard while the kids played with some small fireworks.

The bubbles were Owen's favorite part of the evening. I hope he prefers bubbles to explosives for a long, long time.
After this, we put Owen to bed upstairs and the real show began. It was a really great night and a wonderful weekend.
Grandma and Grandpa followed us home from Oklahoma and spent almost another week with us here. It was such a nice long visit. They kept Owen a few days while we worked and had a lot of great quality grandparent spoiling time. :) After the whirlwind of the Oklahoma trip, we didn't take very many pictures, but here is a farewell shot before they hit the road.
