Independence Day Parade

We walked in our neighborhood Independence Day Parade for the first time this year.  We usually watch it, but this was a great year to be in it.  Owen loves riding his bike now and we've had cooler temperatures this week than we've had for a while.  It was a relief to be out without the oppressive heat we've had the last few years.  Hooray for average summer temperatures!

We decorated bikes and strollers with Lily, Landon, and May the night before the parade.  A good time was had by all. Here we are, ready to roll!  I'm rocking my oh-so-stylish river hat for the occasion.  It's all about the sun protection, people!

Cora also wanted to protect her delicate skin from the sun.  My hat looks much cuter on her.  I love her chubby legs and giant shoes.  These hand-me-down crocs are too big for her, but she insists on wearing them.  No matter what other shoes we put on her, she sneaks them off and puts these on within a couple minutes.  We usually don't let her leave the house in them because they're way too big, but she got away with it on parade day.  At least they go with the colors of the day. Happy birthday, America!
