We had Cora's first birthday party on Sunday afternoon, the day after her birthday. It was a hot August day so we decided to celebrate in our backyard with water play for the kids. Tom set up a water slide on the new playscape, a toddler size baby pool, and a splash pad-style baby pool and sprinkler for Cora. It was all perfect. We had some wonderful friends and family come share in Cora's birthday celebration and we all felt loved on this big milestone in our family.
Cora loved her special baby pool and sprinkler. It was a backyard version of a baby splash pad. She crawled around and around in circles, splashing in the water and smiling the whole time. She and I were the last two people to leave the backyard at the end of the party.
She loves to put things on her head.
For Cora's birthday, I made strawberry cupcakes with strawberry cream cheese icing (recipe from Cook's Country). They were super delicious!
